Queen Elizabeth II, her Royal Highness has her own
personalized flag and was intended for her own use. The flag has a crowned capital E and with roses surrounding it and a gold which is placed on a blue background. This flag was also intended for occasions such as when the queen will take visitations to Commonwealth countries in connection with the Royal Standard, when the monarch goes by with Elizabeth Windsor during the Commonwealth business.
Princess Diana also has her own personal flag during his marriage with Prince Charles. And a recent attention to the royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton makes us think on what will be her personal flag design as the Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince William with his granted arms had reached his majority and now, his arms are mostly like his fathers. As a tradition, a woman’s arms should be stick to his husband, but as what the rules of British Heraldry dictates and are really dull and flat to your interest as a watcher of the royalties, it could never be denied that somehow you will fantasize that the personal flag of Kate Middleton wont follow the rules.
Many were thinking what would be her personalized flag’s design, would she design her flag with similar design to Queen Elizabeth’s personal flag and just change the E to K. Some suggestions include having the design with her high-heeled shoe in connection to her fashion sense, for her sporty side a crossed hockey sticks can represent it and a tiara for her entry to the world of royalty. Some heraldic purists may be hysterical for this, but common people would just comment it’s fabulous.
But to take on the serious side, Kate Middleton’s personal flag would entail speculation on the design she would actually choose, thinking that her roots are not from the royalty itself. She might get ideas from her husband’s flag but somehow her
personalized flag would definitely be on a much more modernized and personalized.
