On the night of April 14, 1865 at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, an event occurred that would forever change history. Unexpected situations would create The “Lincoln Flag” which is actually the United States flag which has 36 stars and has served as front bunting on the State Box at the said theatre when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated that night.
John Wilkes Booth was known as the man who shot the President that night. He fired a .44 caliber ball point blank using his derringer pistol while aiming at the back of the head of Lincoln. The flag was pulled down and positioned under Lincoln’s head as he lay on the floor of the State Box dying.
Some people had the opportunity of seeing The “Lincoln Flag” upon close inspection. Many agree that it has become a National Treasure and should be kept properly to remind others of the circumstances of that fateful evening.
The 36-star U.S. flag would always be remembered as a symbol of sadness and regret over the assassination of President Lincoln. The “National Sadness” has continued because of the president’s death and caused thousands more pain especially after people have survived four years of bloodshed during the Civil War. Thomas Gourlay was credited for taking care of the “Lincoln Flag” and his family continued to keep it a treasure through the years.
The huge U.S. flag was placed on the front of the State Box when Abraham and Mary Lincoln, plus other guests were watching “Our American Cousin”.

Custom flag displays have become more common in recent years. These mainly come in two shapes – feather and teardrop. Compared to banner stands, custom flags serve various purposes and can be designed depending on your specific goals. Based on advertisements and studies, the movement of the flag will grab attention quickly. Advertising and corporate flags are most effective when displayed in outdoor locations, because the breeze makes these move.
The major elements of the display include the flag and its base. The backbone features a thin but sturdy pole that can be composed of more than one section. The flag is attached using a loop on one side which goes through the whole length. The flag will be placed over the pool and fixed to a big ground screw that is set into the soil.
If you wish to set up flags at the beach, the ground screw will ensure that it stays standing. The fabric with its print or pattern will look beautiful while waving in the wind. The flag also moves at 360 degrees, which feature a catchy display. When you position several custom flags together, these look even more beautiful. Feature your corporate name, logo and other important elements on the custom flags for people will easily remember.
The flags are also used with standard flag poles and banner stands. These are usually seen at eye level although there are also taller designs that go up to 18 feet.
Flags and poles will have several uses at outdoor events, business summits and shows.

Businesses are becoming more creative with the way they display corporate logo flags. One rule remains – making sure that the flags are placed in public areas that have high traffic.
Preparing the outdoor advertisement will require you to check the ground first. If the soil is grassy or sandy, you can easily plant the flag pole deep into the soil. If you are working on concrete or asphalt, talk to the company who can make the necessary preparations to ensure that your foundation remains solid. There are also special stands that will help you position the flag properly.
Flags generally are small in size and affordable so you can ensure that you can boost your business and increase sales without having to spend a lot of money. One of the best approaches is to purchase these in bulk so you can save more. Advertising with flags also let you focus on other aspects of your business. You do not have to worry about paying monthly costs and other big overhead expenses. If you like to have the flags custom printed, invest in bright tones and include a catchy message that will call people to action.
Similar to other good products, flags that are properly cared for will last a long time. Many of these are good for outdoor use and will tolerate storms, sunlight and rain for many months. Store the flags properly too by looking for the right container then folding and putting the flag away from dust and dirt. These should be fully dried first before you keep it inside a container.
Feather flags are very affordable and you can exercise your creative skills by adding some elements to your advertisement. Use these for both public and private events and make sure that these are set up properly on poles.

I have a fictional story set a few years into the future.
It is February 12, 2023 and riots and uprisings are going on in 20 nations throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Even some parts of Asia such as Indonesia are in chaos. People are destroying things that come from the Western nations. American flags, in particular, are being burned and ripped. Arab insurgents have taken control of various governments and destroying government buildings. Their ideals have turned into anti-Jewish, anti-American and anti-Western and they have become extremely violent.
In my story, many countries in these parts had their churches destroyed and burned. There are no more crosses, priests and other hints of Christianity in many parts of the Middle East because of the anti-Christians. The President of America, who just won the election decided to send one million US flags to the chaotic areas as a form of foreign aid.
A lot of people were skeptical about the president’s plan, believing that it was only a waste of funds and that the angry Muslims would immediately burn the flags and punish those who would use these.

However, the flags were made of a special kind of material that made these immune to fire. The flags were unburnable and could not even be ripped or destroyed using blades. The woven fiber of carbon nanotube construction also featured graphene coating. When there were attempts to burn these, the threads would only emit white, blue and red smoke, making it more beautiful.

Car flags are generally used at sporting events. Fans like to display these to show support to their favored racer. You can also customize the flag so you can indicate which team you support and include the logo of your company for everyone to see.
Corporate logo flags are quickly becoming popular because of its advertising advantages. These are affordable materials that will immediately spread your corporate name to others and also serves as a beautification piece for the venue. Many proud graduates like to display their school flag in front of their homes to share to others how much they value their alma mater. However, some homeowners associations may frown upon the idea because it violates their local policies and laws. Before putting a school flag on your front lawn or window, check your local rules first and ask the neighborhood association about the requisites.
Civil Code Section 1353.6 provides that non-commercial posters, signs, flags and banners cannot be prevent by associations from being displayed except if these show to be a risk to people’s health and safety. Signs and posters are required to be no bigger than nine square feet while non-commercial banners and flags should not be bigger than 15 square feet.
If your school flag measures less than 15 feet, the homeowners group might let you display it. Make sure that the pole, fabric and other materials are not prone to causing danger to others.
A United States flag cannot be disallowed for being displayed under any circumstance. Civil Code Section 1353.5 provides that the U.S. flag should be allowed to fly and presented anywhere. Americans are actually encouraged to showcase the national flag with pride and respect.
Other signs like signs to lease or sell property cannot be prohibited fully. However, there may be restrictions imposed. Civil Code Section 712 to 713 provides for the rules when it comes to the size and measurements of the flag and signs. These should also give full information about the seller’s address and contact details.

You will notice that there are several national flags around the world that only feature three colors and no other emblem or image. The flag of Mexico features the three colors green, white and red but includes a special coat of arms in the middle. The bands are placed in vertical fashion while the catchy image is located on the white band. The Mexican flag actually has the same colors as the flag of Italy, which has no other image on it.
If you look at the two tri-color flags, the flag of Mexico is different because it has a darker green tone and red tone compared to the red and green on the Italian flag. Also, the Mexican flag is more rectangular because it features a 4:7 aspect ratio. The emblem on the Mexican flag also makes it very unique compared to the Italian banner.
The flag of Mexico was not inspired by the Italian flag as many people might believe. The tricolor bands of Mexico has actually been displayed long before the Italians adopted their tricolor banner. The flag in Mexico was adopted in 1968 but the flag has already been raised frequently since 1821. It was their first unofficial national flag.

The colors on the banner of Mexico was taken from the tones of the national liberation army of the country, when it was freed from the clutches of Spanish rule. The coat of arms of Mexico also features a great eagle holding a snake in its talon while on top of a cactus. The same image was taken from the animal that the Aztecs first saw when they came to Mexico City.

For centuries, flags have been used as directional guides and modes of identification especially in maritime travel. Before the 1700s, world flags were used widely by ships and merchant vessels. These were important for sailors so that they can easily identify whether an incoming ship is friendly or not. People did not use to decorate the front of their homes and offices with a flag. However, the practice became much more common through the years and you will find more of these in residential places.
The Danneborg of Denmark is one of the oldest flags in the world that is still seen today. The flag actually dates back to the 13th century.
Nepal is one of the few countries that features a flag without a classic rectangular shape. There are actually other places that do not follow a rectangular figure such as the flag of Ohio and Tampa in Florida. The flag of Nepal looks like a couple of triangles placed over each other. When you go to different countries, you will notice how some flags feature unique symbols, colors and designs. Although these are effective in grabbing attention, the design is usually inspired by the background of the place. Promotional flags are made to draw attention and invite more new customers to an establishment.
The Brazilian flag is the biggest world flag, which has been waving since the 1960s. The flag is about 8,740 square feet. There are also 17-foot models that are more frequently seen at residential and commercial areas.

Even though technology has evolved much through the years and there are now a variety of new devices and state-of-the-art items that people invest in, I still prefer to work with a certain material that has proven its worth and functionality for centuries. Even today, the item is still widely used and I believe that it will never go out of style regardless of the times. What I’m referring to is a flag.
If you visit various places, you will observe how homes, schools, universities and other institutions display a world flag outside of their structure. There are other places that line up two or more world flags together, which creates more visual appeal. In both residential and commercial areas, people like to decorate the front of their office or home with a big flag. Flags are also present on parking lots, streets, stadiums and other wide areas. These flags are very easy to see because of the large size and bold colors. Many shopping places feature these flags to invite new customers and let people know about new offers and products.
The widespread use of flags has also spurred the imagination of people everywhere. Individuals like to think of innovative ways to use the flags. Flags can be used for sports events, business promotions and even troops on the battlefield. There are also unconventional uses for the flags.
The custom flags and banners are also used to represent families and clubs. These were very useful in guiding soldiers on the battlefield. Some flags will carry special emblems and messages that can only be understood by members of a secret society or group.

Mexico City is located between the high peaks of the volcanoes Ixtaccihuatl and Popocatepetl. It has an old feel to it because of the Latin-American Baroque structures. In other areas, there are also dramatic natural landscapes and beautiful sceneries.
Even though some parts are polluted, the Federal District of Mexico City still drives thousands of tourists every year because of its beautiful streets and neighborhoods. There are 16 districts and 400 communities featuring streets named after famous philosophers and writers, European cities and rivers. Foreigners like to go around the town and discover some of the stories behind the landmarks and places.
The Plaza de la Constitucion is located in the heart of Centro Historico or Historic Center. It is also called Zocalo or pedestal in Aztec. The independence monument was completed during the 1800s and is quite big, rivaling the Red Square in Moscow. The Mexican Army actually has a practice every night to take down and fold the flag neatly. The next day, they raise the flag again to show everyone its beauty and history.
There are many other great places to see around such as the Catedral Metropolitana, which is found on the north side of the square. There are various architectural creations featuring different classic styles. The Great Temple is at the east side with a museum adjacent to it that features ancient artifacts. The National Palace is at the east, where the President holds office. You will also find several great paintings there by top artists.

The first Mexican flag is just like the national flag you see today, although there have been a number of variations in the past.
The second national flag was acquired when the first federal republic began in 1823. The main difference between the old and new flags is in the coat of arms. The eagle’s head had a crown and a serpent was gripped in the right talon and there was also a branch of oak and laurel. The flag was removed in 1864 after the federal republic stopped.
The third official national flag featured the red, white and green colors with the coat of arms placed at the center on the white stripe. The flag had a length to width ratio of 1:2 instead of the usual 1:2 and there were four eagles with golden crowns on all four corners of the banner. The design was actually made through the command of Emperor Maximillian in 1864. It was removed in 1867 when the emperor lost his power and was executed by the Mexicans.
The next flag featured a crownless eagle with a serpent in the right talon. It was raised but not yet declared as the official national flag.
The Flag of Mexico you see today was founded on September 16, 1968. The eagle currently faces to the side instead of the front.
The new Flag of Mexico is the fourth official national flag and was featured when Mexico City became host to the 1968 Summer Olympic Games. This is the same flag you see today.

The Mexican flag has undergone many changes through the decades. In fact, it has changed a total of eight times already throughout history. Some of the adjustments are small but there are also bigger changes. Other aspects of the flag have remained constant despite the change in government and the times, such as the coat of arms. Some of the features that you will find that have not been changed through the years are the eagle, cactus, serpent, rock and lake. The position of the animals and other aspects have been adjusted somewhat. According to Aztec folklore, their gods commanded them to create a grand city. When they arrived at the site, a great eagle eating a serpent was seen perched on a cactus. This explains why the animal is shown on the flag.
When the Spanish arrived during the 1500s, they ruled the people for over 300 years. The Spanish crown was the head of the people for that time. The unofficial national flag of Mexico is called as the Standard of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The flag was raised in 1810 and was linked to the rebel troops that aimed to remove Spanish power.
Mexico succeeded in gaining its independence in 1821 and the official national flag was raised for the first time. The Imperial Flag featured green, red and white colors and the coat of arms, specifically the perched eagle, was put in the middle. The coat of arms is what differentiates the Mexican banner from other tricolored flags.
