While I was still in college, I met a friend who had a tremendous liking to souvenir banners. This is apparent because his room was practically covered up with a collage of different university banners not just locally but all around the globe. Aside from his friends and relatives abroad who continuously send him new banners, he had chat mates in the Internet that he could exchange banners with. His passion for the collection of these banners could not be explained, but it made him happy and fulfilled.

One time when I visited his room, I saw the jumble of banners some comes from Harvard University, one also from George Washington University, one from Tokyo, the other one from the UK and Australia, there was also one from Singapore. These banners are juxtaposed with local university banners and the ensuing result is a harmony of color shades, a kaleidoscope of contrasting tints, a manifestation of a person's unlimited potential when totally harnessed.

Even today decades after, my friend still continues to collect such banners . Though he does not have time to communicate with his friends, most of his collections are personally handpicked from his travels abroad in line with his work. This has become his hobby, a dream that he started in school but he could not let go. Some collectors may have the desire that lasts for a few years and wane in the end, but my friend has made banner collection a lifetime goal.

There are other items that are also gems for collectors, like coins for example though quite expensive, some collects dolls, others Japanese dolls, while most prefer stamps. So, do you have a collection of things that are in a sense unique?
