Soldiers have always been the ones to pay the ultimate price when it comes to war. And it isn't the generals who fight on the frontlines. The humble foot soldier is confronted with all the military might of their opponents. This means that the soldiers have to withstand anything that the enemy throws at them just so they can have a chance to win. This is why boot camp has always been difficult.

Boot camp is where the potential soldier is tested for aptitude. This is where the trainee is selected by the different military units. This means that this is where the bonds of brotherhood are first formed. However, these trainees already know where they want to be. Some might want to be scout rangers, others will want to be paratroopers, and still others will want to be marines. These factions have their own military flags. And these flags are shown to the aspiring candidates so that they can be inspired to do their best to be assigned to that unit.

Since the assumption of military training is that you are at war, you will be prepared for war. This also means that you have to trust your comrades with your life since they will be watching your back and you will be watching their back. Military units are capable of achieving this simply because they are capable of forming bonds among themselves. The different units seem like the primary family of the soldiers within that unit. Their military flags remind them of who they are and who their brothers and sisters are in the field of battle.
