Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Wednesday, November 17, 2010
It is a common sight to see lots of commercial flagpoles for sale, especially in specialty or hardware stores, but are you aware that there are actually two kinds available? One is the internal rope system and the other the external rope system type.

The main difference between the two is the placement of the flag’s rope system. For the internal type, the rope system is put in the inside of the pole. This type is ideal for flags which are placed outside and are always exposed to changing weather conditions. It is ideal for places where the weather is at extremes and very greatly from time to time. This makes the rope last longer thus making the whole structure more durable. It also gives you the assurance that despite strong winds and harsh rains, your flag will remain intact and raised.

Flagpoles which have an external rope system are ideal for places where the weather remains relatively the same for most of the time. Although this is the common choice, one disadvantage to this is that it exposes the important parts of the pole to wind, water and sun. Thus, greatly increasing its chances at deteriorating at a faster rate and also making the flags more susceptible to theft because of the mechanism which is easier to access because of its location outside.

The benefits of an internal rope system definitely outweigh those of the other alternative. Yet, the decision still rests on you on which is better suited to your needs and budget.
