Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Tuesday, November 30, 2010
It is quite ordinary to see a significant number of commercial flag poles up for sale, especially in specialty stores. However, did you know that there are actually two types available? One is the internal rope system and the other one is the external rope system.

The most common distinction between the two is the position of the flag’s rope system. The internal rope system is, as the name implies placed in the inside of the pole. This type is ideal for flags placed outside and are most of the time exposed to shifting weather conditions. It is the best type to use especially for places where there are extreme weather conditions that vary greatly from time to time. This makes the rope stronger making the whole structure more durable. It also gives you the peace of mind and guarantees that regardless of strong winds and heavy rains, your flag will remain raised and flying.

On the other hand, flagpoles that uses an external rope system are best for places with a few changes in the weather conditions. Although this is the most common choice, one drawback of this is that the significant parts of the pole are more exposed to the wind, water and sun. Therefore making it deteriorate faster compared to those using internal rope system. It also makes the flags more prone to theft because it is easier seen and accessed due to its placement outside.

The advantages of an internal rope system clearly overshadowed those external rope systems. However, only you can decide which will better suit you needs and budget as well.
