Flagpoles made flying our favorite flags possible. Because of them standing tall and full of pride on the grounds, we appreciate the flags even more and treat them with more respect as we lift up our heads to praise them. Nonetheless, have you ever thought of how high is the highest flagpole throughout the world and where it can be found?

Well, years ago, a flagpole tower was built in North Korea . This is to support a 525-foot tall flagpole that will fly a 300-kilo national flag of North Korea . When the battle between North and South Korea arise, South Koreans challenged them by adding 330 feet more to their flagpole to fly a 330lbs flag. Because of this, the North Koreans made another flag tower as high as your eyes can see. It flies a 600-pound flag which is immediately taken down during heavy rains as the weight become increasingly heavier adding more stress to the tower.

The tallest flagpole to date is the Ashgabat pole found in Turkmenistan . This flagpole reaches as high as 436 feet topping the former world record holder Aqaba flagpole that can be found in Jordan . It is about 433 feet tall and it can be looked up even in other countries nearby.

However, this world record from Ashgabat flagpole is yet to be challenged as a 530+ feet flagpole is now under construction at Azerbaijan. It is to complete very soon aiming for the record of tallest flagpole in the world.
