World flags usually stand up for something. It has meaning and it serves a purpose. The flag design may have significant relation to what the country has been through, its history. For example, the flag of the Philippines , it has a blue stripe on top and a red stripe on the lower part. The red symbolizes war and the blue symbolizes peace and democracy. The blue is situated on the upper part to mean that the country is now celebrating its peace and democracy. The war has ended. That is how world flags represent their country and their historical past.

There is usually a story behind each flag. Before, the flags used to be just guides for the military to coordinate with each other in the battlefield. It also served as an identification tool to help identify the group behind the flag. Then it has evolved into a signaling tool especially during situations where communication is a challenge.

People are so proud carrying their world flags not because of the beauty the flag brings, but because of the great accomplishment the people of that country have achieved which was represented by the flag. It is a patriotic symbol that is given high value and respect. It serves as our reminder of our past, our history, our struggles, and our accomplishments to this day.
