In a car racing, cars are faster than a second, and are almost invisible and hardly distinguishable not unless if you’ll concentrate and pop out your eyes tracing on your waged car on the circular track.

However, race cars don’t just race and run as fast. They have rules and regulations that they need to abide. Racing etiquette, safety of self and safety of others are just one of the few rules in the car racing industry.

Meanwhile, on the track, no matter how blurry and invisible the perspective of the driver is and how voice commands are hardly heard, they still need to follow the rules. How? There is just one simple object, a flag. Yes! A car flag is the answer to give simple symbols and commands at the race.

Car flags come in simple designs and shapes. They are short, small, and rectangular. They must also be simple because in order to maximize the view of the driver, the flags shouldn’t occupy most of the space.

However, in order to catch a driver's attention for a short span of time, the flags are often designed in high contrasting colors to help the eyes focus on the target. Single colored flags are also used for certain purposes.

These flags denote basic racing protocols: green for start of race, yellow or blue for caution, red for stop of race. The black flag signifies that a driver needs to stop or retire from the race due to disqualification while the white flag signals a slippery road ahead.

The most popular and most awaited flags to be waived are the checkered black and white flags. These flag signal that there has been a winner. The checkered flag becomes a token for the victorious racer. It could either be framed or embroidered with his name on it.
