Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II actually has a personalized flag for her own use. The flag is a crowned capital E, surrounded by roses, is gold on a blue background. This flag is for occasions when the queen visits Commonwealth countries in lieu of the Royal Standard, as the monarch goes by Elizabeth Windsor when on Commonwealth business. Princess Diana also had her own personal flag at the time of her marriage to Prince Charles, and the recent royal attention to Prince William and future queen Kate Middleton makes us wonder, what will the Duchess of Cambridge’s personal flag be once she is queen?

Prince William was “granted arms” upon reaching his majority, and his current arms are highly similar to his fathers. Traditionally, a woman’s arms are “impaled” on her husbands, but as the rules of British Heraldry are quite boring and uninteresting to your run-of-the-mill royal watcher, fantasizing Kate Middleton’s personal flag demands that that rules be not followed.

What would the personalized flag look like? Would she follow Queen Elizabeth’s personal flag, but substitute it with a K? Tongue in cheek suggestions for the flag would include a high-heeled shoe for her fashion sense, crossed hockey sticks to represent her sporty side, and a tiara to show her entry into the royal world. While heraldic purists are probably hyperventilating in shock, we of pop culture grit simply say, Why not? It’s fabulous!

Kidding aside, the personal flag of Kate Middleton would engender much speculation regarding the elements she would choose, considering that her roots are not in royalty. By and large her royal standard would borrow elements from her husband’s, but her personalized flag would definitely have more personal, and modern elements.
