All things have sentimental and personal value to some degree, and even more with people. We simply get attached to our loved ones. We place priceless value on the company and times we share with them, ups and downs, through thick and thin, and all moments we have existed alongside theirs. In effect, it becomes ultimately hard to let go. For those servicemen who have already passed on, a flag case would be an ideal memorabilia to keep the flag to which he or she was serving.
Flag cases that are of high quality must be made out of the finest wood with almost seamless grain, constructed with utmost care, fastened with wood screws or dovetailing where the joints are finger jointed for a more gentle approach. Not only would these methods add flavor and prestige to the case, but also adds structural strength and rigidity for longer lasting expectations.
While glass fronts are recommended for viewing, using a scratch proof type such as Plexiglas may be opted. Not only would this front be more professional and elegant looking, they offer the owner a better view and assessment of the internal condition without actually opening the case and exposing what is inside to the environment.

There are cheaper flag cases made out of compressed layers of wood, or hardened paper. While these are also quite sturdy and durable, they start to break down faster than their other counterparts. Especially with humidity and moisture, their lack of proper grain formation may cause them to warp and get out of shape and form. Even laminated designs may start to peel. It is always best to consult and buy from a reputable flag case maker or dealer.
