Using Several Adjacent Flagpoles
If you feature many flags from different flagpoles placed adjacently, the US flag must be the one to be positioned first. It should also be the final flag to be lowered from position. There should be no other flag placed at the right side of the American flag to show respect and reverence to the national banner.
Grouping Flagpoles in a Circle
When flagpoles are placed in a circle, the American flag must be positioned in the middle. It should also feature the flag at the peak, above all other banners displayed in the area.
Showing Flags of Various Countries
Featuring flags from several countries require you to keep these of the same size. The flags must also be placed on separate poles and the height of the banners must be all the same. During times of peace, it is respectful to keep the flag heights the same and not to put one or more country flags higher than the rest.
Presentation in Special Cases
Showing the Flag at Half Mast
The flag is flown at half mast if ordered by the President or Governor and during Memorial Day. In most occasions, the flag must be raised fully then lowered to the middle of the pole. The American flag goes through the same procedure again at sunset. Even if the US flag is displayed at midpoint, other flags must be lower than it to show respect, provided that they are all placed on one flagpole only.
