Ever get to see in television stories of some protesters from across the globe, those who try to make a statement of discontent by burning up a flag and trying to damage the honor that is supposed to be rendered to it instead? Even the US flag is not exempt from finding itself in the arms of protesters before being lit up in a fiery blaze.
I was thinking to myself why not make the flags fire retardant, authentic versions that is. By making the real and authentic US flags fire retardant, there would be no need of getting the nationalistic pride hurt and shaken. Furthermore, it would be fun to see the silly look on the protesters’ faces when they try to light up a flag and just wouldn’t be able to do it anyway. In case they get to burn up a flag of similar design, it would clearly show that they have just made a fake version of it.
Furthermore, it may also be a cool and fun idea to have another version of the US flag wherein the inner layer is the real fire retardant flag, while there is a normal layer on top of it which has a chemical property of lighting up and displaying flashy colors when it burns, very much like that of firecrackers. That would put on a good show of the implied message that the US flag is not to be messed with. As it lights up with fire, only the outer layer burns out with a dazzle of colors, much to the amazement of everyone when they get to see that the national flag would still be present after burning up.
