Friday, August 1, 2014
Many places have their differing celebrations, symbolized by their custom flags to denote its importance and significance. Here are some popular ones used across the globe.
What is green in color, and has the designs inspired with pots of gold, leprechauns, and the iconic four leaf clover? It is the St. Patrick’s Day flag. Usually associated with Irish origins, it is a well known holiday in the US and other key places around the globe.
How about the iconic rabbit or perhaps the beautiful and patterned eggs? Yep, you guessed it! It is the Easter Day flag. While this depiction is more secular in form, there is a corresponding religious motif of the cross and other religious designs. Usually celebrated on a Sunday, it may either be used for religious purposes related to the life and death of the Savior, or perhaps just a festival to mark the coming of Spring. In any case, this celebration is done in a festive and joyous manner.
The red, white, and blue, the stars and stripes – that is very reminiscent of one thing: The American Old Glory Flag. To be more specific, the Fourth of July flag is a term given to any inspired Independence Day flag for the US. Many people, being patriotic that they are, have differing designs which denote the day of Independence from British colonial rule – July 4.

The iconic turkey, alive or roasted is the main idea when it comes to designing the Thanksgiving flag. Seeing more popularity in households nowadays, it is associated with the celebration of a surviving group of pilgrims to the old world America. The settlers of the ship Mayflower were touted as the first settlers to set foot here in the US and interacted with the native Indians.
