If you wish to improve sales performance, you might consider giving out gift certificates to target clients. Many people will like to give out your products are gifts, but may not know which item will best suit the receiver.
As a jewelry artist, I discovered how giving out gift certificates to key customers greatly improved my business. The people who received the gift certificates forwarded these to friends and family, so that the recipient can choose the design and type specifically. It takes out the guesswork when giving gifts and ensures that the receiver will definitely adore the present.
When you sell products, gift certificates will always work to your advantage. You can include any amount, depending on the items you are selling and the request of the target customer. You can also have customers purchase these at a certain price or at the same price written on the gift certificate, to be exchanged later on for your products and services.
Below are some tips on how to make your own gift certificates.
You will require a computer and printer to come up with beautiful gift certificates. Also get good quality paper or postcard stock to print the gift certificates on. These will not cost much and creating the design and final printing will only take a few minutes. You can also invest in a document editing computer program to come up with a great concept and design for the certificates.
You can add images, text and other elements to the overall design. Make sure that you include the essential details such as your company name and logo, the amount that the gift certificate is worth, the expiry date for claiming or redeeming the document and photos. Feel free to add borders, patterns and other images to increase its visual appeal.
Some of the vital information that gift certificates should always have include your business name, address, contact information, a line that will be filled in with the name of receiver, a line to be filled in by the giver, the amount or value of the certificate, the time period and the official number of the certiciate.
The certificate number will be important for you to keep track of how many certificates have been issued. It also prevents fraud and protects you from individuals who might be able to make an exact replica of the gift certificate without your consent. Have the client fill out the blanks completely before redeeming the gift certificate. Keep the information of the clients in your official records. You can use these later on if you have more promos.
It is recommended that you keep a log of all the gift certificates you hand out or sell. The record will further protect your from counterfeit certificates. You can also distinguish if the ones you officially released have been tampered. Sometimes, unscrupulous individuals might change the value or amount to redeem more than they paid for.
When keeping a log, include the gift certificate number, buyer’s name, recipient’s name, date redeemed, dollar amount, expiration date and date of redemption.
