It is quite a reflection of a leader that the ideals he fought for has literally catapulted his country to world fame. From John F. Kennedy of the United States, to Gandhi of India, to Charles de Gaulle of France, to Margaret Thatcher of England and a special mention must be made on Mikhael Gorbachev of the old USSR. These are just a few of the world leaders who made a difference to world outlook whether politically, environmentally and the uplift of human dignity. They being prime movers of society had somehow gave vent to world opinion, thus giving due recognition to their country and flag.

Yes it is clearly apparent that when a country becomes famous its national color would follow suit. Who would forget the American Flag after what we did to help support democracy and human rights, or the flag of India after Gandhi staged the famous stand for a non-violent struggle and silent protest. Or who would not be overwhelmed when Gorbachev literally doused the flame of the cold war and a new Russia and its flag rose from the ashes.

This reference to world events had brought us closer together, like a family of nations as evidenced by the almost two hundred country flags that stand as mute witness to the struggle of the United Nation to unify us. We really have gone a long way; wars have been stopped; total disarmaments is on the drawing board; the world is finally waking-up to the effects of global warming; we are trying to scale down global poverty; and in the future attain lasting world peace.
