As the holiday approaches and patriotic fever catches us, we can only anticipate a few days of rest, slouch in front of the TV, have time to read, but most would be happy to join a 4th of July party. This is the time to really express your American spirit, organize a party.

How to plan your party? First of all, start planning at least three weeks before the fourth of July, because of the expected holidays your friends might have other activities in mind, some would be on vacation, others will have family gatherings. But if you can send your invitation early, then they might opt to be in your party.

Make your invitation as patriotic as possible maybe include a mini American flag with it. And once you have the complete guest lists, then decide on a budget and design your decorations to aptly suggest a really patriotic atmosphere.

Start your makeover outdoors, maybe line your driveway with flags on the posts; decorate your patio with flag garland and buntings; or pamper your wall with a large fan flag to spice-up the already fiery ambience. Devise an American arch at the entrance and hang a personalized 4th of July banner to welcome your guests to the party or perhaps display a banner to wish your neighborhood a happy holiday. The possibilities are endless.

Do the same touches on your tables and chairs. Drape your tables with appropriate cover and provide each with red, white and blue skirting, with matching table napkins, cups and cutlery.

Be ready for a long party, since most 4th of July parties starts off in the afternoon and lasts up to midnight and early morning. And usually a 4th of July party ends with the fantastic display of fireworks.
