Building a road to places that are difficult to reach is not an easy process. This is because you have to map out the place and travel to where the current construction site is. After all, if you're building a road, it will keep going forward until it is finished. Since the assumption is that you have already hired someone to survey the path ahead, you're just going to follow the tracks. If you're the one surveying the site, you need to make the path visible.

The first thing that you have to consider is the distance of the road that you are building. You need to pack enough equipment to last the duration of the construction especially if you're on a tight schedule. You're going to have to pack attention flags so that the ones pouring in the concrete and laying down the asphalt can follow your trail. You should also bring along extra surveying equipment so that you don't have an issue when one breaks down.

Since you're the advance party, you'll need to spot potential hazards along the way. You will also have to mark these hazards so that they can be seen and they can be dealt with. Otherwise, accidents that could have been avoided will happen. You need to mark these areas with danger flags so that the construction party can avoid these areas or deal with these areas so that they can make their work area safer. After all, you wouldn't be able to work at full capacity if you knew that a boulder could come tumbling down any moment.
