Custom flags may be used for a number of reasons. Among this is during sports competitions and events. During this time, you will witness a number of flags lined up on the field each supporting a team of players joining the event.
There is nothing more effective to boost the esteem of participating players than to display a custom printed flag with the name of their team printed on it. It is one way to energize them and encourage them to do well on the game.
However, there are some instances where some flags are being banned but this sometimes happen only as per request. Take for example one football club named Italian Football Club Tottenham Hotspur FC who has a very strong Jewish culture and belief. They requested not to allow any Israeli flags to be displayed on their stadium. Any Israeli flag seen will be confiscated. However, this is only a rare case.
Still in most sports events, custom flags are always present as it represents different countries or teams. Take for example the NFL season last 2010. There was quite a confusion on which team to really support – the San Francisco 49ers or the Denver Broncos. For this reason, the National Football League placed stadium flags with the team’s symbol printed on it.
This is to identify and distinguish one team from the other especially if spectators are not very familiar with the teams who are participating. This move from the NFL proved to be effective as the “Niners” got an obvious support from the English fans.
