All over the world, flags are used for many purposes. They are loved cherished and taken care of, which some disregard but others do it as a profession or their passion. There are other flags that are designed just for displays so keeping and maintaining it is crucial. One of the flags that must be taken cared of is the
American flag. It symbolizes all the state of the America and the democracy of the country. That is why some of the homeowners have it in their patio as a sign of patriotism. Others have it indoors and use as display or in a glass case.
There are laws that state on how to use flags properly, and also ways to take care of your American flag properly. Here are some of the ways on how to take care of it:

Respect – you have to handle the American flag with respect. There are many clothes and apparel that resembles the national flag. Although it has been a trend, but you have to stray away from this to show respect to the flag especially if you wear it on parties and other events which are not related to a national event. Never vandalize a flag in public, burning or stepping on it in public is a crime. It clearly destroys the image, dignity and pride of the people it stands for, showing disrespect.

Placement – when displaying it in your front yard or patio, make sure that you have a sturdy pole to place it in.

Cleanliness – every now and then, machine wash the flag to remove stains from every day wear and tear of dust.
