Try to imagine how a giant flagpole would look if set up at your own residence. The huge flag might seem normal if placed in other places like a car dealership but you will realize that the installation will easily dwarf your home should you continue with the plan. The size of the home will help determine the right flag size and pole. Experts recommend the following guidelines: a single-story home will do well with a 16 to 20-foot pole. Tall single-story houses or two-storey houses can have a 20 to 35-foot pole. Tall two-storey houses will ideally have a 25 to 30-foot pole.

______ I have a single-story house and have to install a flagpole 16 to 20 feet tall.
______ I have a tall single-story house or a story and a half home and have to install a flagpole 20 to 25 feet tall.
______ I have a two-story house and need to install a flagpole 25 to 30 feet tall.

Ease of Installation. If you decide to proceed with the flagpole installation, you should get all the details correctly. You might also consider hiring a professional to do all of the work for you. You might be able to save extra by doing the project on your own, but there are big risks if you’ve never done it before. Sectional and telescoping flagpoles are placed in a ground sleeve set in concrete. This goes further down the frost line depending on your location. Some people find that going for a wall-mounted flagpole is easier than the standing version.
