  • When placing the flag on a speaker’s stage, the American flag must be behind or over the speaker or at the right side of the speaker facing the audience.
  • When the flag is placed in a vertical or horizontal manner against a wall, the blue or union field must be at the uppermost portion and at the right side of the flag or the left side of the observer.
  • When putting the flag on a window or in a corridor, it should hang with the union field at the left side of the person.
  • Flags can be shown every day at the main administration area among public structures.
  • Polling places during elections should also showcase a flag.
  • When school session is going on, a flag should be placed at various spots.
  • When a government official dies, flags can be flown at half-staff.
  • The United States flag must be on the right side to face the people when positioned with another flag or against a wall. Together with other banners in crossed staffs, the US flag staff must be taller.
  • When the banner is placed in a procession, it should be positioned at the right portion of the flag line. It can also be placed at the center.
  • Flags on floats should be presented on a staff.
  • Do not drape the flag over a boat or train. People may display these on their vehicle but the staff must be on the right fender or chassis.
The US flag should be placed in an upright position and not stooped to any object or individual.
