Pennant streamers are technically cheaper to acquire than the rest of the signage types used in advertising. Even if this is the case, one should be sensitive enough to take the necessary precautionary measures in order to prolong the lifespan of these things.  Because of their portability, size, relatively lightweight design and structure, and the nature of their placement for advertising, they are normally exposed to the external weather conditions. Naturally, these things would be damaged.
The standard thickness of these pennant streamers are about almost a half centimeter. Made out of polyethylene, these streamers are designed for this kind of job, and should typically last a long time. Nevertheless, harsher conditions and unfavorable instances such as sleet or torrential rains during wet or winter season would hasten the weathering process of these materials.
Even if without rain, snow, or gusts of winds, even the sunlight offers a great deal of damage to pennant streamers. Harsh and damaging ultraviolet rays may cause intense influence on the quality and sharpness of the print on the material. Even if the best streamer makers offer longer lasting prints on their products, it would still be wise to use take not of their exposure to these elements.
Some advertisers have been wiser to determine and schedule the display of these pennant streamers. Especially for those who would be using them repeatedly over the course of some time, they make sure that they put down these streamers whenever the specific event has ended, or even when there are several days as gaps in between succession of events using the same streamer design. This effectively prolongs their use and worth.
