Know the correct size. Size matters because this is the basis how much cloth must be used.  But the size is dependent on the purpose of its usage and where it will be placed. The larger the size of the flag the more costly it can be.
Know how many you will need. Prepare ahead and find out the quantity of flags you will need. The more flags you order the cheaper it can cost. There are flag stores that offers wholesale price if the flag is ready-made. But for custom-made flags it is cheaper because of the one-time labor cost.
Choose your colors. Color of a flag is an additional price factor. The more colors the more cloth or the more printing materials are used. Most flags have a combination of three colors. But should you decide to have more than ten colors it is advisable to request for a screen printing than digital printing. The former is cheaper because only one film is used per color and it is reusable for several times. Digital printing on the other hand is made by a machine which uses more colors which some are used in excess and wasted. But if your flag design only needs less than 3 colors, digital printing is better.
Know the location of the flag. Whether the custom flag must be located indoor or outdoor, you must inform the flag maker. The type and quality of material is determined on where a flag will be placed.
