When you think you may have heard of everything about flags and their uses, there is still one more things that these things may be unheard of – as faith flags. Yes, even flags are used for propagation and faith, and are almost as synonymous to being near-holy as they could be. The wonderful and mystical place of Tibet is one place that oozes with spirituality and ascension for the human experience. It is clear why flags are even used here as faith flags.
These faith flags were initially used by the Bon people during times of challenge such as a war or the like. These flags were initially printed and carried similarly to those insignias and house crests by the European lords. The main difference with the Tibetan variant is that these were carriers of highly spiritually linked images such as tigers and dragons. The passing of time has molded and compromised their initial presence with the Tibetan Buddhism.
What is special with these faith flags is their significant association with human existence and the concepts of their faith. The colors used are associated with the elements and the directions in this world, and many of these faith flags are adorned with mantras or prayers for just about any good tiding that may be prayed about. One of the most common and popular mantras is widespread – the Om Mani Padme Hum.

Festivals and important events are some reasons why people and followers display their faith flags. Chinese New Year, birthdays, and anniversaries to name a few, general purpose also find their place in being displayed with these spiritually positive flags such as being hung on doorways, windows, or main pathways of sacred and solemn places.
