Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Monday, August 10, 2015
NASCAR flags have been used widely in the past several years particularly in the sport of auto racing. Before, there were no two-way radios in NASCAR race cars to communicate with drivers during the race. The teams had to rely on various flags to send messages and talk to the driver because of the loud racing noise and the cheering of the spectators. The colorful flags would easily get the attention of NASCAR drivers to help guide them throughout the contest.
Almost every auto racing team will use the same flag colors to ensure that the driver is familiar with their signals. NASCAR can now about the current status of the race just by looking at the flag. The flags function in the same manner as signal lights in traffic. These will help racers know what to do next, determine their standing in the race and even talk to other NASCAR drivers. The NASCAR flags will be waved by designated individuals during different portions of the race.

The green flag is used to indicate that start of the race or if the race restarts. Green will tell the driver that the track is clear and that other race cars may proceed.
The yellow flag will indicate that there is a debris or an accident on the track. It can also mean bad weather or mechanical trouble so other drivers should proceed with caution. The track is generally not clear so drivers are warned to slow down or maintain their position. Drivers may rally behind the race leader. During practice, a yellow flag can mean an order for the driver to enter the pit stop immediately.
The red flag means that the track is truly not safe and all NASCAR race cars must stop immediately.
