When you go through the city of Jakarta on a Monday, you will find that many of the museums are closed. It is better to visit on Sunday where the local Puppet Museum hosts a puppet show. The place also holds the tomb of Jan Pieterszoon Coen, a Dutch officer who used to serve the company in Indonesia centuries ago.

Tourists who like to visit parks should visit Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. It is also referred to as the Indonesia Miniature Park, which has a total area of 250 acres. There are plenty of parks in the country where you can learn more about the background and past of the country.

Some of the landmarks will take several minutes to go through. You will find that a whole day’s tour will not be enough. The archipelago also has a lot of tourists spots that people visit every year. Some of the fun activities to do include walking through parks, talking to the local vendors, sipping coffee or tea beside a lake or river and riding a cable car. You can also find a small replica of the Indonesian archipelago inside a lake. TMII is frequented by people because they get to learn many interesting things about the country. Many decorations are also sold which refer to the history of Indonesia. Museums offer trinkets, puppets and other decors. The Reptile Museum, Military Museum and Indonesian Museum are among the most popular because these house some of the most important artifacts that shaped the country’s history.
