It is almost undreamed of how the people of the olden times used to live. They did not have the kind of technology and lavishness that we have in recent times. Before they did not have the gadgets and gizmos that young people enjoy nowadays. No skyscrapers, bullet trains, the Internet and a lot more. The cities before were so bare, the façade of most establishments were very simple and most buildings and structures were plain and not as attractive as the buildings we see at present.

Nowadays, streets are lined up with all kinds of avenue banners and billboards making the streets very colorful and alive. No town, looks like a ghost town these days because all buildings are donned with all types of enhancements and exaggerations. The architecture and designs are all state-of-the-art and some are even computer-generated.

Because of the very creative and inventive minds of the people we have gone from simplicity to luxury. People will never get lost because signposts and other corporate logo flags are all over the place. Some people look at all these changes as signs of progress and as a whole an achievement of the humankind, but there are also some people who see these changes as a sign of power and greediness. Some people monopolize and tyrannize the less fortunate and the underprivileged. Making them feel the disparity and emphasizing the difference between the life of the run-of-the-mill people from the life of the rich and famous.

The simplicity of the life before and the absence of all the comforts that we have these days are maybe things of the past but we should never forget to look back and see where we all came from and always remember that life no matter how we live it should always be a life well lived.
