Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Saturday, December 10, 2011
Flag dancing is a kind of art with custom flags being showcased as the primary accessory. These are typically used by dancers to wave and swirl following the rhythm and musical beats. The activity is also called flagging, rag spinning or flag spinning. All dancers are referred to as flaggers. The method is different from flag twirling in which flags are attached into a pole. During flagging, the flag is not connected to any item, but the weight position of the flag is highly distinguished to fan dancing.

Lightweight materials are used to the flag, with silk being the favorite cloth. The flag is then colored with rich tones, depending on what the flaggers need and want. Some makers will feature colors of the ultraviolet fluorescent kind by adding sequins and glitter. Try to go with the flow and be enticed by the effects and melody of the music. A lot of people have been entranced by the motions.

There are a number of workshops that provide dance lessons. These are available in many places and educate aspiring dancers the proper ways to spin and wave the custom flags in an artful manner. The dance is also considered as a unique type of workout. There are flag dancing contests that indicate how much the activity has become famous, most notable in different parts of the United States. There are flagging group leaders that organize workshops, activities and special occasions. One of the most highly known flagging events is the Texas Flagger Weekend. Big cities like New York and San Francisco also feature these large events.

The custom flags provide a unique approach to the dancing activity and adds more zest to the classic moves, even though many individuals compare it closely to the Hawaiian fire dance and Maori Poi Dance.
