Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Friday, January 18, 2013

You will find several colors, designs and emblems on pennants especially when these are displayed among fraternities. The pennant streamer usually includes all the specifics and images that will describe the fraternity best. These are always used during special occasions and traditional ceremonies and are passed on from one generation to the next.

The pennants you find in campuses and schools are also made and presented in the same manner. The initials, logo and other images pertaining to the school or university will also be shown. Many fraternities all over the United States feature three symbols in Greek or Latin to describe their society or clan. Members usually feel a sense of pride and confidence upon seeing these special symbols. The brotherhood would educate members about the meanings of symbols and words on the banner.

Among ships and boats, the pennant is also constantly shown. The installation involves bolting the pole on the ship and then flying the pennants from a high place as the ship travels. When the ship comes into port, the pennants will continually fly. Other vessels and places will be notified where the ship comes from and what its intentions are. Other vessels and sailors will also indicate if the ship is friendly or not.

The most famous pennant streamer that many people already know about is the skull and crossbones theme which best describes pirates. Initially, the symbol would immediately strike fear into the hearts of other sailors. The other vessel would usually surrender upon seeing the symbol to prevent danger or certain death.
