The Minnesota state flag is among the 50 official state flags of the United State of America. With a common base color of blue much like that of the Old Glory, this state’s flag is a combination of a rich splash of medium blue and a lot more other colors and scenes. To start, the medium blue base is bordered by gold with a gold fringe. The middle part of the flag is situated with a circle on white background and outlined with yellow
In the middle circular shape is a combination of scenes and depictions from the Great Seal of the State of Minnesota. Surrounding the circle are five groups of stars, with the top star depicting the North Star, and the other four groups of stars indicating the points of a star itself. At the bottom of the circular patch is the bold written word MINNESOTA in deep contrasting red against the mild blue.

It is undoubtedly a symbol of pride and identity of being a federal state of one of the most powerful nations in the world. However, there are some criticisms raised by some groups which pertain to the origins of the imagery of the scenes on the flag. For many concerned citizens, the seal of Minnesota depicts the “Manifest Destiny”, which is related to the inevitable grabbing of the land by the white settlers form the natives of the American continent

While it may be of some concern to some, it is nonetheless a minor issue as compared to the glory and grandeur of the state of Minnesota. The Minnesota state flag is but a conglomeration of the hardwork and sacrifice of the pioneers in making the state in its progressive and civilized state.
