All of us who have been able to discern our own national flag from others would surely know what world flags are, and would be able to even identify at least five more others. These flags are similar to any kind of flag – woven cloth of high grade which is imprinted or embroidered with colors and symbols representing the ideals behind it.

Among all the types of flags, the world flag is perhaps the most common and popular. Technically anyone can identify their own national flag, as each country has its own unique design. Different colors for different values and reasons, country flags bear the striking meaning of independence and freedom, as well as liberty and justice for its citizens. All in all, each national flag of the world is revered with the highest honor and respect.

While it is quite clear to assume that the world flags of today may have originated from the very same country that brought out its gained independence, it is still quite unclear as to where or when the very first type of flag we use in today’s era may have had originated. Others would assume that the use of these modern day flags may have had its roots with ancient China, while some would claim that it is the present day form of the vexillum used during the Roman Empire, while some would claim that it based its existence in the Mahabharata. Nonetheless, the world flags of today are definitely political and military in nature, having founded its use during battles and wars, many of which are the cause of such new nations being ever formed.
