Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Thursday, June 5, 2014
In the beginning, the Nepal national flag featured human faces on its sun and moon. Later on, these were taken out after the banner had a redesign in 1962. The banner is known to show that the Nepalese people can survive and remain hopeful as long as the sun and moon continue to shine upon them.
Several other independent states are present in the Indian subcontinent before the British rule. For almost 300 years, these nations like Nepal, had their own flags and featured a variety of symbols. The banner designs, colors and shapes also differed depending on the background and history of each country. When India gained its freedom in 1947, many of the old flags were no longer available.

For many years, Nepal became an independent and distinct kingdom which features its own original flag. The design has been available for many centuries. It features a crimson background bordered by a navy blue tone. These two colors can often be seen in various Nepalese arts and crafts. The upper portion features a white moon with eight rays. The crescent is affixed just adjacent to it. The bottom area features a unique white sun which has 12 rays. These images mean that Nepal will last as long as the sun and moon. Before, the faces on the sun and moon can mean different feelings for the people of Nepal. The current Nepalese flag no longer has the faces. The new constitution in 1962 changed the look of the flag although other local flags still feature the designs.
