Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Tuesday, August 11, 2015
NASCAR flags have been present for several decades. In fact, these are as old as the sport of auto racing, because the items were highly needed for communication when two-way radios were still inexistent. When drivers race, the sound of their powerful vehicles would usually make talking impossible so they had to rely on colorful flags to get quick information during the race.
Majority of auto race teams use the same combination of flag colors. NASCAR drivers can immediately know their position in the competition by looking at a flag. These will function in the same fashion as traffic lights at an intersection. Each color will have a corresponding meaning that will let drivers respond accordingly. The NASCAR flags are usually shown by an assigned personnel at the start or finish line.
The green flag will let drivers know that the race is about to start or restart. Green signifies that the track is open and that the race can resume. The yellow flag means that there has been an altercation on the track and that drivers should go with caution. Sometimes, the yellow flag can mean that there is another car experiencing engine trouble or that the weather is about to turn sour. The yellow flag might tell drivers to group behind the race leader. During practice races, the yellow banner tells the driver to enter the pit stop.
The red flag means that drivers are not safe on the track. They are advised to stop immediately. NASCAR officials will be notified accordingly.
