Perhaps most of us Americans have seen a Christian flag . It is the flag that was designed to represent all of Christianity but we normally see it inside Protestant churches in Africa, Latin America and North America. It is white in color and has a red Latin cross inside a blue canton where the shade of red stands for sacrifice and Jesus Christ's blood that has been shed on Mount Calvary to redeem mankind; blue representing the picture of royalty of Jesus Christ as King of Kings as well as faithfulness, truth and sincerity; and the white symbolizing the purity of Jesus Christ and peace.

Amongst the number of recognizable flags in the world, the Christian flag is the only free flag because it is unlike any other flag whether religious, secular, ancient or modern. It is independent, cannot be controlled and universal. And unlike all existing national flags and denominational flags, it has no earthly bonds or allegiance; only Christ is its Master.

Christian flags exist for each and every individual regardless of race, sex, national boundary, politics, affluence, poverty, slavery or freedom. Any nation or denomination cannot restrict its existence because it is similar to the air we breathe, it can be used by all but owned by no one.

The first pledge of allegiance to the Christian flag was written by Methodist pastor Lynn Harold Hough in 1908. "I pledge allegiance the Christian Flag and to the Savior for whose kingdom it stands. One brotherhood, uniting all mankind, in service and love."
