There is just something so fulfilling about having new things. And what's more fulfilling is when these things come in half their prices! Yes, I'm talking about the 9th world wonder: The Sale.

When we see the word "sale" draped in attention flags all over our favorite shopping mall or our well-loved exclusive boutique, our eyes mimic meteor showers. This is especially true if you actually saved up to buy something you so desire, that you feel like your life goal is to own those things. This is because a sale advertises EASY ownership, and ownership is one of man’s emotional needs. Remember how we always wanted "security" and "belongingness"? Well, these things are hooked onto plain ownership. We feel SECURE when something BELONGS to us.

Be on the look for seasonal sales and anniversary sales. This comes extremely handy for specialty stores. There are times when they just needed more closet space for a fresher collection and so they do clearance sales. Sometimes, they also hit a yearly inventory revamping so they also do clearance sales. Clearance sales are the best of them all because of the fact that the store's goal is just to empty their warehouses. Usually the best ones get sold in the beginning anyway. If you don't mind wearing what was hot last season, then this works for you.

However, don't wave your bills out like a racing flag just yet. Remember to always put a limit to your shopping. Remember "Confessions of a Shopaholic"? Shopping ruined the protagonist's love life, career, friendships and even family relationships. Money is indeed a very important resource and just buy what you need, even if it's on sale.
