Generally, large golf courses are marked with at least three differently colored golf flags and the colors used are usually yellow, red and black. Yellow golf flags mean that pin is infront, red golf flags mean that the pin is in the middle and black golf flags mean that the pin is at the back.  Generally, these are the representations of each colored flag. Some golf courses may apply a different color coding.

There are also different types of flags that can be seen in a typical golf course. Some custom golf flags are used as marker, bearing with it a number or numbers indicating the hole number in the golf course. There are also custom golf flags that serve as directions to guide the golfers in navigating the golf course. There are also mini golf flags that are placed in golf flags. These mini flags may serve to represent the owner or passenger of the cart or simply to perk up the golf cart.

Some golf flags serve to indicate the speed of the wind at some parts in the golf course. These flags, in turn, will alert the golfer and adjust his swing when playing in that part. And some custom golf flags serve to advertise major and minor sponsors of the tournament. What better way to advertise products, services, people and groups than to hoist up a custom golf flag? It is both cost-effective and attractive.
