Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Tuesday, July 1, 2014
The presence of the Alcoholics Anonymous flag in your neighborhood means that there are concerned citizens who would want to help out those who need assistance in curbing the uncontrollable urge to drink excessively. The fellowship represented by this flag may be composed of a team of sociologists, volunteers, medical practitioners, and psychiatrists – all who are eager to help out individuals to get back to sobriety.
To be an alcoholic would mean that there should be a chronic and incessant practice of an individual to go on drinking sprees with alcohol, and would not have the control to stop at will. More often than not, the individual would just stop upon being too drunk to even continue, or just pass out drunk. Alcoholism may not be that urgently dangerous as compared to other health risks, but it does pose a great deal of damage to the person’s psyche and self esteem since drinking is usually the answer to problems faced by the alcoholic individual.
Founded by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith, both former alcoholics who were able to curb their affliction through spirituality and peer counseling. The Alcoholic Anonymous flag is a symbol of hope to others who are still in the process of seeking companionship or belongingness to find strength in battling the traps of the addictive practice.
Employing the much heard “twelve step program” to sobriety, Alcoholics Anonymous have grown in size, most of the volunteers being former alcoholics themselves who have seen guidance and deliverance from the addiction through peer meetings and consistent counseling, helping one another emotionally, spiritually, socially, mentally, and physiologically.
