Friday, August 15, 2014
June is the month wherein there is a Flag Day, a day to fly the old glory. This is a day that your neighbours, friends, family, basically everyone, prepared to flaunt their flags. The question is, are you ready for this day? This is what you must prepare your home for whether at your front lawn, porch, living room or any parts of your home.
Flag is an important element in the month of June. The flag is often being raised during day time. It is brought up to its pole very early in the morning and up until sun down. At the end of the day, it is slowly brought down and carefully folded properly to keep it.
The flag can be raised at half -staff. It can be fully pulled to the top of the pole then lower it down to half-staff level. When keeping it for safe keeping at evening, the same procedure of carefully folding it should be done.
When folding the American flag, the proper way of doing it is by first stretching the flag. It is advisable that two people hold the ends of the flag and fold it lengthwise. Then from the end portion of the flag or at its strip end, fold it triangularly. This must be repeated until the flag is folded until its end.

Should the flag turns old and tattered, do not dispose it the same way most things are disposed like by simply throwing it into a trash bin. The flag must be burned traditionally or take it to your local Boy Scout troop wherein they make a ceremony for it.
