Question: Is it acceptable to display the American flag upside down?
Answer: No. the flag should not be flown with the union side at the bottom. Such is only allowed when indicating that there is a calamity, danger to property or people or times of war.
Question: I have an American flag that fell on the ground and got soiled. Does the flag need to be destroyed?
Answer: The flag should not be allowed to get in touch with the earth, floor or any body of water. If the flag accidentally touches bottom, you do not have to destroy it if it is still in good condition. The banner only needs to be cleaned.
Question: I wish to make a quilt out of old American flags. Is it acceptable?
Answer: No. Flags should only be used as flags, not as a piece of clothing, curtains, table covers or beddings.
Question: Iā€™m planning a big party for my folks soon. Can I print an image of the U.S. flag on the table napkins?
Answer: No. The image of the American flag should not appear on any fabric or material such as napkins or other disposable paper.
Question: Can I let the American flag wave outside 24 hours a day?
Answer: The flag is generally raised from sunrise to sundown. You may keep showing it in the night if it is well-lit.
Question: How should I raise the flag?
Answer: The flag must be raised quickly. Lowering should be done slowly.
Question: Should I bring the flag down during bad weather?

Answer: Yes. The exception is if you are using an all-weather flag.
