The Essential Seams
The tent seams should be supported using double-stitching and nylon tape. The tape will be stitched into every seam which will add strength and keep it stable even in bad weather. There are waterproof seams on the floor and fly which are factory waterproofed via a seam sealer. Prepare the tent in your own lawn or backyard so you can gauge how well the tent will perform under different weather conditions. You can also visit your local sporting goods shop to get waterproof spray and sealers. Look for other accessories that will keep the tent safe despite the conditions. The tent should be dry before you pack.
About the Fabric
Plenty of tents today are made of nylon. There are coated nylon tents that will stay dry against the rain. Nylon mesh is ideal for the gear pockets and inner walls. There are also no-see-um meshes for the tent window screens. Some of the high quality tents will use rip-stop fabric and thick materials to last for years.
Keep the Tent Zipped
Always inspect all the zippers of the tent before you go camping. These should easily open and close and not get trapped in the fabric. The zippers should further be protected against rust.
About Hot and Cold Flashes
Weather changes will put a lot of stress on tents.
Strong winds will require you to invest in strong poles, anchor ropes and stakes. Dome tents will perform well against strong gusts. The arrangement of the poles will also offer a lot of strength. You can stay dry and safe from rain with the ideal tent setup.
