Avid cornhole players are always arguing which contents are best for the game. Through the years, enthusiasts believe that cornhole bags should only contain corn kernels despite the drawbacks of these organic items. There are groups, however, that say that the modern content, namely plastic pellets, should be better choice because these add to the durability longevity of the materials. People do not have to spend much by repairing and replacing the bags and contents every time.
The advantage that plastic beads offer is that these are resistant to weather and other outdoor conditions. These are not chewed on easily by insects and mice and will last longer even when exposed to heat and wetness. The plastic pellets pricier at first but last longer and helps you save more in the long run. Corn fillings are less expensive and feel better according to traditional players but will require you to pay more for maintenance and repair.

Some cornhole bags still contain the old corn fillings and people are actually willing to pay for these despite the regular maintenance requirements. Some people simply like to play the game in the same way as the first ones did back in the 1980s. Some people are careful about the feel, size and consistency of the bags which explain why they prefer the old method and types. Everything will largely depend on your budget and personal preference. Teams should be assigned one color so they can identify which bags belong to them during play.
