Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Wednesday, February 18, 2015
The initial flags of the world first appeared about 4,000 years ago. These were made of silk because of its durable and lightweight characteristics. The material will last long in outdoor conditions and is very easy to carry. Silk used to be the main material used in making flags before.
Over time, custom flags featured other materials. Included in the list are nylon, cotton and polyester. Each of these materials have their own strengths and drawbacks. Nylon is also lightweight like silk. Many companies and institutions today use nylon because it is durable and not heavy. The flag will also fly easily in gentle winds. Many people put emphasis in the durability of the flag because almost always, these will be flown outside and have to deal with changing weather conditions. Nylon tends to dry fast and can be used for various events.
Polyester has also gained popularity in the past several decades. The material is excellent when used in places that experience harsher weather conditions. A polyester flag is thicker and more durable compared to nylon and silk and can withstand strong winds and rain. Many companies like using a custom flag for heavy-duty activities. These may be woven or knitted.
Finally, cotton is also used by people although not as frequently as the other types. It is good for indoor displays. The look of the flag design on cotton material is attractive because the colors are presented in the best manner. Some people still use cotton flags for outdoor activities too.
