The game of cornhole is said to have originated in the Midwest during the 1980s. Over the decades, the game has significantly grown in popularity and people of all ages today play it regardless of the location. There are those who make their own cornhole bags while others prefer to purchase straight from the internet. Buying will cost more because of shipping rates. Making your own will help you save a lot of cash but you have to put in more work and time.
Each set should consist of eight cornhole bags. One team gets four bags. You should color four of the bags the same way to assign these to one team then color the other four using another tone for the other team. It will be easier to score the points just by looking at the color of the bags. The bags are created using tough duck canvas. It is durable but breathable and will last long for many months even if you keep throwing these at cornhole boards. The bags will measure about six by six inches after being sewn. Inside the bags are corn or pellet fillings. The bag should weigh around 14 to 16 ounces, to make these easy to throw at the boards.
Get your duck canvass from any department store. You can also source the best corn kernels that will stay tough against the outdoor elements. The cornhole bags will last for several months when properly made and stored. You may also opt for other kinds of fillings like sand and beans.
