Before, people used to bring very heavy and inconvenient tents that are difficult to set up. There are many choices available nowadays like commercial camping grounds, cottages and RVs that let people have more space and comfort regardless of where they are camping. There are people who still like to go with the traditional way of setting up tents and feel nature at its best.
You can try traditional camping by looking for the best tent first. Look for the materials and elements that you need to stay safe and learn about the particular features and capabilities of the structure.
Initially, aim for protection against outdoor aspects like wind, rain and wild animals. There are strong and heavy duty tents that will keep big groups safe against the cold months.
Other areas tend to have strong gusts of wind, snow and mud. You should look for modern materials like fiberglass poles and nylon fabric that are durable and last long against these elements.
The four basic tent types include the dome tent, the A-frame tent, the cabin tent and the geodesic tent.

Among these, the A-frame tent is the most commonly used. It is the preferred tent of the Boy Scouts of America. These feature two poles creating a triangle on both sides. A middle pole will stabilize the tent and the walls have steep angles to allow rain to flow freely on the sides. Guide wires also stabilize the structure. A tarp will be useful against rain and sunlight.
