Friday, November 6, 2015
If you take time to view the US flag, you will notice that there is a smaller rectangle on the upper right part of the field. It has a dark blue color with 50 five-pointed white stars. On the bigger part are 13 red and white stripes. There are seven red and six white stripes. The stars represent all the states of America, while the stripes stand for the first colonies who helped gain America’s freedom.

Many people look at the United States flag with great respect because it symbolizes how the great forefathers used to fight back the British regime. The flag also appears on other materials like shirts, caps, stickers, posters and patches. Many people like to decorate their house, office and schools with the American flag as a sign of respect to soldiers and government leaders.

Many American flags are also displayed in front of houses. During Independence Day, the number of flags will significantly grow as people take time to remember the virtues and events that shaped America’s history. On July 4, 1776, the banner of America was raised for people to know that the country has been freed and people may start building it into the grand nation that it is today.

During Flag Day, people also raise and display the US flag everywhere. Some of the usual places include houses, schools and government buildings. Sometimes, people like to make smaller versions that they can display on cars, lawns and tables. Search for other related items that showcase your nationalism.
