Vexillology is the term used to define the science of studying flags. Flags are available in a wide array of sizes. There is also an adequate term used by people for every size and the various aspects of the banner.
The
flagpole or flagstaff is the pole that holds the flag up. The hoist describes the edge of the flag right next to the flagstaff or the side of the flag. The flag’s vertical width is also called the hoist. The edge at the other end of the hoist or the side is called the fly. It also stands for the length of the flag horizontally. The custom flag also features different colors and styles for its background, called the field.
