Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Wednesday, January 15, 2014
There are instances when displaying a flag would entail having other
flags with it on the same flagpole, or adjacent to one another. Even
if it is not a mandated law to follow a certain protocol, it is just
proper to observe a method of showing respect to the flags in a manner
most befitting, especially if it involves the American flag.

When placed beside other flagpoles, the order of raising and lowering
is first and last respectively. The raising first signifies a first in
establishment of the influence of the American flag in the vicinity,
while lowering it last signifies that the presence stays until the
last possible moment. Liberty and gallantry is best exemplified in
this manner.

When arranged in a circular manner, try to make sure that the American
flag is at the center of the circular formation. If this cannot be the
case and it has to be among those in the formation, make sure that it
has the tallest flagpole and the flag is flown at full mast, being the
highest of them all.

When the flags are of different nations, it is important to take note
that each national flag is flown at equal height. The American flag to
which the nationalistic pride is embodied, should still be among
equals, especially during peace time. This is one of the most
important flag etiquettes to observe to avoid any misunderstanding.

Of course there is the half mast pole configuration for flying the
American flag. This is done to honor a dead national or a citizen of
the US. Normally, this is also done whenever there has been a calamity
within American grounds or abroad where some patriots have shed their

lives defending the nation’s pride.
