A flash collar is used as a decorative item that seals the base of an outdoor flag setup. First of all, it gives the flagpole a clean and streamlined look that makes it more presentable for everyone to see. Second, the flash collar also acts as a protective covering to the base and keeps moisture, dust and rust away. Using a collar made of excellent materials will also prevent rust formation and having the flag break down from the external elements. The collar is positioned at the base of the flagpole where it is affixed into the ground or block. The flagpole is inserted through the hole in the ground and sealed accordingly.
Many flagpole makers and internet sites offer flash colors in a variety of designs and colors. The material usually comes from strong materials like iron, steel, aluminum and copper. The collar size should also depend on the flagpole diameter. The external diameter can have different measurements based on the actual pole. The diameter can be eight inches or 36 inches or more.
When people purchase a flash collar, the diameter should be taken carefully. In some cases, the collar can also be fitted into the pole to check whether it will seal the base properly. The collar can simply be placed through the hole for brand new flag setups or installed through existing ones. Adhesive materials can also be used on the collar to cover the base properly and prevent dust and moisture from getting in. Colors can be matched with the existing flagpole.
