Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Friday, June 20, 2014
Stars are quite common elements that appear in various types of flags around the globe. If you look at the United States flag, you will notice several stars on the upper left corner. There are about 50 states around the world that include a star in their official banner. Many states have special meanings behind the stars. There is one country that specifically includes the bible as its main symbol – the Dominican Republic.
The main colors found on the Dominican Republic flag are white, blue and red. These are said to have originated from the flag of Haiti, a state that used to rule the former. The colors represent virtues such as bloodshed, freedom and the sacrifices made by their national heroes. According to stories, Juan Pablo Duarte, the founding father of the Trinitarians, thought of using the three colors. Changed the layout of the red and blue then placed the big white cross to represent their trust in God.
The flag of the Dominican Republic also presents a cross and a bible in the middle. These represent the faith and blessedness of the people.
There are four other flags presented on the flag of the Dominican Republic. These are small flags of the country positioned on spears that frame the bible and cross. These smaller versions, however, do not include the bible and cross.

There is also a civil flag of the country, which is quite similar to the smaller versions. These are without an image in the middle.
